Resolve LED outdoor lighting design considerations

The design of outdoor LED lighting fixtures shall comply with the latest outdoor lighting technical specifications issued by China and the urban road lighting design standards.

First, the working environment

       LED outdoor lighting due to the harsh working environment, subject to wind, rain, sun, ultraviolet radiation in the sun, temperature changes day and night, air, dust, chemical gases and other conditions, lamps and lanterns by natural ageing treatment year after year . Design should fully consider the impact of these factors.

Second, LED lighting materials and cooling options

       The shell and the heat sink are designed as a single body to solve the heat problem of the LED lighting fixtures. This method is better. Aluminum or aluminum alloys, copper or copper alloys, and other alloys with good heat conduction are generally used. The heat dissipation includes air convection heat dissipation, strong wind cooling heat dissipation, and heat pipe heat dissipation. What kind of heat dissipation method is selected has a direct impact on the cost of the lighting fixtures. It should be considered comprehensively, and the best solution should be chosen in conjunction with the design product.

       The material design of the lampshade is also very important. At present, transparent plexiglass and PC materials are used. The traditional lampshade is a transparent glass product. The lampshade of what kind of material is selected is related to the product grade positioning of the design. Generally speaking, outdoor lamps and lanterns The lampshade is preferably a traditional glass product, which is the best choice for manufacturing long-life, high-end lamps. The use of transparent plastic, plexiglass and other materials for the lampshade, do the indoor lamp shade is better, for outdoor life is limited, because the outdoor sunlight, ultraviolet light, dust, chemical gases, day and night temperature changes and other factors make the lamp shade aging life shortened Secondly, pollution is not easy to clear and clean, so that the transparency of the lamp shade reduces the output of light.

Third, the LED chip package

       At present, domestic LED lamps (mainly street lamps) are mostly assembled using 1W LED strings and parallel connections. The thermal resistance of this method is higher than that of advanced packaging technologies, and it is not easy to create high-quality lamps. Or use 30W, 50W or even larger modules for assembly to achieve the required power. The packaging materials for these LEDs are encapsulated with epoxy resin and encapsulated with silicone.
